Casual dining on Zenith & Constellation

We were on the Zenith but never tried the casual dining for dinner...is it buffet or from a menu? Also, how about the Constellation? Thanks!

The trick, Popsec, is to find someone who has sailed recently on the Zenith. It may be different from other X ships, since most of the others have true alternative restaurasnts.

If memory serves, and it may not, on our Horizon (sister ship to the Zenith, now sadly moved to a cheapo line owned by the same parent) cruise, the buffet area is divided into two halves. One is a sushi bar, every night. The other half, I think, was a casual restaurant on a few, but not all nights. You picked up your own salads and desserts, but were served the main course by waiters. (I think that's right; but I may be confusing this with HAL.)

Aside from yours, the only review of Zenith was back in 2004, by zstkbrkr. I haven't seen postings recently by this member; so maybe you're the only one active on this board who has been on ths ship.

I've asked your question on another board, and will get back here if I get any answers.

Thank you! It hadn't occurred to me that no one had been on the Zenith recently. I also had asked about the Constellation so had hoped someone had cruised on her or other Mellenium class ships. And thank you for posting this on another board for me. Of particular interest was the cruise on Zenith that I'm taking my 84 yr old Mom on. She wouldn't be comfortable dressing for formal nights and maybe even not the semi formal nights. She will, however, love the smaller Zenith ship and the service. I just don't want her to have to eat pizza/pasta every night or have to order room service :smiley:

Hi popsec!

The casual dining on Infinity was very nice from what I heard. You had tablecloths and were served by waiters and had the same menu as what was served in the dining room. You are expected to leave a tip of $2.00, I think.

Here's the first response. BTW, Cruiseclues is not a competitive board, it's a web site put up by a couple that likes to share cruise information and links. The posting IS from another cruise board, so I can't give its name.

Yes there is a casual dining every night in the Windsurf Cafe. I know there are nights when some folks just want to relax after a long day in port. When we were on the Horizon just before she left the fleet more than a few people did this. By the way...the Sushi is wonderful also. It is served at the same time on the other side of the Windsurf.

You're welcome. As you can see, we try to do things for each other. In one case, a CC member's daughter lost a beloved t-shirt, and another CC member who was cruising on that ship bought one for her.
