Let us know your itinerary and I'm sure some fellow CruiseCrazies will be able to help you. When are you leaving and where are you going? Mebert
AZfloater, I've never done a west coast cruise but I've read messages from other CruiseCrazies. They'll be here to assist you any minute now. In general, I know that there will probably be two formal evenings. If you like to dress up real fancy and get your picture taken while on the ship, those are the nights to do it. If you don't like the pictures you don't have to buy them, but it would be courteous not to take the pictures if you definitely don't intend to buy them. You can opt to dine in the main dining room with waiter service or dine more informally on the Lido Deck, which is cafeteria styled self service. Carnival pre-charges your Sign and Sail Card with the gratuities for the crew. If your service was exemplery you may want to leave an additional tip. It has been my experience 100% of the time that the service was so outstanding that I always wanted to leave more than the recommended tip. This is strictly up to you. Conversely, if service was dismal, which is rare, you can ask to have the tip adjusted downwards. Check out the Cruise Capers publication that's left for you every night for the next day. Read it thoroughly so that you can plan out your day on the ship. You don't want to miss out on anything that may be of interest to you. I'll post more as I think of it. Have a great time on your cruise!
