jbond
At our age(70's), medical coverage is a major concern. The main reason that we take insurance is to cover any medical emergency or evacuation. Coverage for trip cancellation, missed airplanes is OK, but that isn't a break the bank situation.
JoeyandDavid
Most definitely Jbond as much as you guys stay on the go..... anything could happen at any time.. I was reading where an emergency airlift to the United States could easily run 250,000 usd. Very good point Jbond thanks

Mebert
JoeyandDavid, Thanks for the heads up on the insurance. I always purchase it but I'm going to read the policy a little more thoroughly and check and make sure that all the dates are correct. On my last two policies the dates of birth on both parties was incorrect and the travel dates were short by about 2 days. If something happened during the final 2 days of the trip, we would not have been covered. Everyone should make sure they check the dates on their policies. schatje, I'm going to check that American Express deal.
