My Europe cruise is costing me even more!

Has anyone else noticed the dollar weakening by a nickel against the euro its up to 1.279 I believe..and lets not even talk about against the pound MY trip just got more expensive alt text

Welcome to Canada's nightmare over the last 20 yers or so. Of course, now that the dollar is worth 90 cents US instead of the 62 cents it was 3 years ago, that's creating a whole other set of problems, like jobs going back south.

Don't worry about the little stuff that you can't do anything about. When we were in the Med. in 11/04 the Euro was $1.32 to $1.35. We still had a greaat time!

I agree. It's not worth worrying about and you can't do anything about it.

It does make the cruise line excursions a little cheaper, or at least no more expensive, they are priced in dollars.

Good point, James. The dollar priced tours from the ship turned out to be a better value in 11/04 than private tours. I do believe, however, that Joey and David have booked several private tours or cars with driver; and those, of course, are priced in Euros. Still, 1000 of Euros might cost $50 more than before the recent drop in the dollar--not a big deal.

Thats a wonderful point for those ports that we dont have something already scheduled.. I feel better already.... 1.32 to 1.35 really ...but it went back down.. does anyone know what the 3 year low would be?

Last summer the exchange rate was about the same in Europe. I did not make any major purchases except for some Venetian Glass. I basically stuck with the inexpensive souvenirs like tote bags and limited my dining to the ship. I did have to get some melon gelato though.
