Caribbean Princess vs. Celebrity Millenium

Hi, we are trying to decide between the Caribbean Princess and the Celebrity Millenium for our next cruise next February. The prices are pretty much the same - which one would you veteran cruisers pick and why? The itineraries are a little different - actually the Celebrity ship visits more ports. They are both out of Fort Lauderdale. We've been on Princess a few times in the past and also on Royal Caribbean but never on Celebrity. My travel agent says Princess and Celebrity and equal and a step above RCI. Do you agree with her rating? Also, Holland America's Westerdaam is also in the running - where would you place that cruise? Thanks for any input you can give us.

Hi marcybeth!

Welcome to Cruise Crazies! I don't think you can go wrong choosing any of these ships. Celebrity, Princess, and Holland America all have good records. I haven't been on Princess or Holland America yet, so I can really only give my personal account for Celebrity.

I have been on Celebrity 3 times, and have had great onboard experiences on all 3. I have been on "Infinity" the sister ship to "Millennium" and it is my favorite ship of all that I have been on. The food and entertainment and service was great, and the ship is very clean and very classy. Haven't been on the "Millennium" yet, but I've heard very good reports about her. I would love to try Princess, so I would personally go on either ship. Good luck choosing, and hope you have a great cruise!

Hi, and welcome to CruiseCrazies!

My choice would definately be to go with Celebrity. I have been on both lines, a number of times, and have vowed not to go back on HAl until I'm 80, and can fit in....

The food, service and entertainment on Celerity are far better than HAL!

Thanks for everyone's input. I agree with going on Celebrity but the room on Celebrity would be on a low deck (I think the lowest deck for an outside room - Continental deck) and my friend would rather have a higher deck on the Princess for a comparable price. For the amount of time you spend in your room, I could even take an inside room on the lowest deck, but my friends prefers Princess, so I guess this cruise will be on Princess. But next time, it'll be Celebrity for sure.....
