JoeyandDavid
Hi everyone.. I need some input from those Crazies that have information about embarkation from Miami and Tampa .. We love sailing from Fort Lauderdale not only because of the area but also the ease of connection and close proximity to the airport I have been looking at a couple of cruises that leave from Miami and Tampa and wondered what the overall ease of connections were.. Any thoughts?
Suzila
We left from Miami last July and it was super-simple. Flew in to Miami airport and caught a shuttle right outside the airport for $17/person to South Beach to the hotel to meet my daughter-in-law's parents. The shuttle would have taken us directly to the port if we had wanted to go. It couldn't have been easier. Then, on the way back, we took the excursion on the last day showing us around Miami, which dropped us off right at the airport. It was very convenient. We left from Burbank on America West, Joey. So much easier than LAX.
DaCruzNut
I live closer to Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale) than the Port Of Miami, about 1/2 hour difference, I prefer to leave from Miami. The drive into the port is much nicer! Instead of driving through an industrial area, with no 'ambiance,' the drive into Miami is across a large sweeping bridge, that starts at Bayside marketplace, and into the port, with all the ships, lined up, visible from the high point of the bridge. really gets your heart pumping! Haven't sailed from Tampa, but have seen friends off. It's kind of strange. The terminals are "scattered' around. Kind of confuding...
