Suzila
There are people who like not having to see their steward at all while they are cruising. That doesn't happen on all Carnival cruises. We were on Carnival a few months ago and saw our steward all the time. As far as not being able to go to Cozumel, I think when you cruise on any line, you have to be open to last minute changes due to weather, or whatever. I've been on Carnival cruises where the service is great, and Royal Caribbean cruises where the service was so-so. Each cruise is different. We actually disliked the first Carnival cruise we went on, and said we'd never go again. Then I won a cruise on Carnival, and wasn't going to give that up...THAT cruise was great, and we've done it several times since. The point is: don't count it out...try again on another ship. You may be surprised.
KeithnRita
Welcome back to reality frostyboy64! Most of the time great service is who you happen to draw based on your cabin and dining selection. If I was you I would not rule out Carnival based on one cruise.
hamster92256
On our cruise to Bermuda with a large group Karen and I saw our room steward at least twice a day, where as my daughter and her boyfriend who were on the other side of the ship had to track theirs down to just get beach towels. The rooms were always taken care of we just happened to see our steward.
Peddler
I've been on both Carnival (Ectasy) and RCI (Rhapsody)...service was good on each.
teacp
Who cares if they see their room steward as long as their needs are met and the room is spotless. Please don't rule out Carnival we have gone on three cruises with them and have never been disappointed.
Mebert
frostyboy64, Thanks for your review. I noticed many CruiseCrazies feel the same way I do about Carnival. Most of my cruises have been on Carnival. I guess I've been lucky to get good service staff. There is a great possibility that your wait team was a lemon team. I had asked on another thread if you arrived in the dining room late. Sometimes it slows some other things down if you arrive late. However, the wait staff is usually very tactful if that happens. They do try to gently get you to conform to arrive in time to enjoy a leisurely pace for dinner. I'm really sorry that you had a lukewarm time on the Fascination. I did read that you enjoyed some of the shows and some of the food so it wasn't a complete loss. I do hope you give one of Carnival's new ships a try. You might be pleasantly surprised.
