Hi, I am looking for info about cruising in the month of January. I'm thinking about booking a cruise w/ RCCL that leaves out of NJ in January going to the Caribean. Can anyone tell me if there are bad points for cruising in January, like rough water, can you enjoy the outside decks, etc .. ANYTHING? Thanks a bunch

nicole06, Great to see you posting… Welcome again to CruiseCrazies … It has been our experience that sailing the Caribbean in January can be awesome.. Hurricane season for all intense and purposes is over the temperature in the Caribbean is wonderful... Blue skies turquoise water and one of the nicest feeling one can experience.

We have never said from Jersey so I cannot help you with the weather on the east coast in January but once you get to southern fl and beyond its magical.

Wish I could provide additional information to you, some of our other members will no doubt be able to give you more details of what to expecting January leaving from Jersey.

Have cruised twice in January so far. Loved it. Weather was great, the prices were a little cheaper, and it gave something to look forward to once Christmas was over. Cruising from Jersey, the first and last sea days will be cold outside, so you'll want to enjoy all that the ship offers indoors. Most ships have a pool with a retractable roof, so you'll be able to swim and lay on deck.

We love cruising in January....usually perfect weather....and if you live in a cold climate a nice get away from the weather.....We have a cruise crazies group going to San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Maarten leaving out of Miami on January 13th to the 20th............

Great to see you posting, nicole. One great advantage to cruising in January is that you won't have loads of kids running around. They'll be back in school after Winter Break. Feel free to post your cruise date to our calendar and the meeting hall. So glad to have you as a member.
