bakersuzie
 I just wanted to let some of you know that when I heard Carnival was cutting fares, I called my TA. I had previously paid in full my balance on my 6-17-06 cruise. When I went on the Carnival website I discovered that the rooms that I had paid for had become cheaper. My TA was able to call the company and get me a 180.00 ship credit. Yeah!! I hope this info helps some of you get a credit or save on your next cruise. DaCruzNut
Great news, but your travel agent dropped the ball. When I book a cruise, my TA watches the fares for me and tells me when they drop. I usually get a refund, rather than a shipboard credit. I use a high-volume, cruise-only, TA, the cruise lines want to keep happy.
Longboysfan
Same here. TA watches for any price breaks or random upgrades.
JoeyandDavid
Same here ..however I tend to act as my own TA
Joanandjoe
Our TA also watches for price breaks and specials: that's how we moved from a mini-suite to a full suite on the Noordam for only $205 extra per person for 11 days. However, if the price drops once you've paid your final deposit, the cruise line can give you nothing, a shipboard credit, or cash back. I would think that cash (or credit) back is unusual. Congrats on your shipboard credit. Use it in fun and in good health!
