Just invited a new couple form the dark side to come and join the crazies. Bruce and Brenda- celebrating their 16 anniverasy. They are looking to share tours so i told them about Tuscany and Santarini openings. Lets see if they come join the fun on this board.

Welcome home diane and Lou. Glad you had a good time. We missed seeing you post.

Diane, do you think that the LO would call book reservations for us for Secret Tour and San Marcos Basillica? I was thinking of booking thru online site ticketaly.com There is a sevice charge and you have to pay up front. ever use this site? You can book tickets for anyhing in Italy. thought about reserving tickets for Accademia for David also. I know it is more expensive but it would be nice to have it paid for ahead of time.

Thanks for the welcome back. I was lurking but did not take time to post. There are several websites where you can make reservations for the Doge tour. I only tried one (that's when I found out it was too early for reservations). I will check out some of the others which have lower service charges closer to the 2 mo mark. Personally, I prefer to make my own reservations for the Doge tour and St. Marks so that I can be sure it fits into our planned schedule for Venice touring. Our reservation for "David" is being handled as part of our private Florence tour.

I have a really good idea how exhausting this trip will be. I expect that adrenaline will keep us going. When we did the Baltics a year ago, most of the cities/towns were walkable on your own with lots of cobblestone streets. We tried to see and do as much as possible every day. We are not early risers at home so this trip will definitely tax our stamina.

Diane welcome back. We haven't been to the Baltics (have been to Holland & Germany). What we found with the Med was the topography - the land is extremely steep everywhere (except Florence & Rome) so most of your walking involves so much climbing as well, just want fellow crazies to be aware so they can get their fitness level up before hand   Don't forget we come from flat Florida and are totally unused to shopping and exploring in hilly conditions.

Welcome home Diane and Lou! Glad you had a nice trip!

We also have Parc Guell and La Familia Sagrada on our itinerary. We will not have a lot of time in Barcelona, but plan to pack in as much as possible.

Jackie-- I think traveling by water bus in Venice is definitely the cheapest way to go. When I was there, it was part of an organized tour, so all of our transportation was included and pre-arranged, so I am not sure of costs. I am thinking of getting at least the 24 hour water bus pass. It seems that if you use it at least twice, it is the better deal.

I would love a visit from the upgrade fairy. I have been on 10 cruises and never been upgraded. I think I'm overdue, don't you?
