zebra
there is a new person over on the CC board - PollyPenguin, who has joined our cruise with several friends. I have invited them over to join us. Wow - we're growing still. Wonder if this cruise is close to being sold out?

s73645
Anything planned for Halloween festivities on board? Joey, David & the door sign photo reminded me that we will be cruising on one of my favorite holidays. Are pro football games broadcast live or delayed? Does anyone know? The Cowboys/Redskins game is scheduled while we are in Santorini.
JoeyandDavid
Hi Shannon Celebrity didn't do anything special last year .. although some did "dress" (I also activated your email link) As far as football...there were some games in the sports bar... if it's an international feed there is a chance
s73645
Would the French think me strange if I roamed around Cote d'Azur dressed as a pirate? Maybe if I added a Prada parrot.
JoeyandDavid
Well all i know for sure that is that October 31 isn't the same as in the US Here is the last paragraph of an article from about.com http://french.about.com/library/bl-halloweeninfrance.htm Halloween in France is rather controversial, due to the perception of corporate and cultural influence, as well as the fact that it is not a typical French holiday and some people still don't understand what is being celebrated. Because Halloween is seen as an American celebration, some French people refuse to enjoy it, having decided to include it in their anti-American boycott. It's too early to tell whether Halloween will develop into a long-term tradition; once the novelty wears off, it may turn out to be just a fad. And yet, interestingly, the French have been celebrating the ideas at the very heart of Halloween (respect for the dead) for centuries. 31 October to 2 November have traditionally been spent, especially by older generations, visiting cemetaries, honoring saints, and attending religious services. s73645
Good data Joey. I guess I could dress up as a middle class french suburbanite, then they'll be none the wiser.
JoeyandDavid
that will work..... We packed costumes last year and never used them... (I may sneak my horns on though.....) What my main concern is; the different cultures, I wouldn't want to offend.. I would be scared some Churches and old villages we may visit in The region might not be as accepting of our American humor.. so i dunno what do you think?
