I am trying to decide if I will give up my CC cabin for an inside cabin on the same deck. Is it really worth the price difference? I like the near total darkness of an inside cabin and am not sure the sunlight coming in through the balcony doors will be a good thing. What other real benefit do you get from the CC cabin? I need to decide by the end of the day... help me out please.

Shannon - this is really subjective and up to one's taste. We have stayed in Inside, Outside, Balcony, mini suites & CC. Personally I also have to sleep in TOTAL darkness and find the heavy curtains on the balcony cabins to be total blockout. So I don't think that will be a factor. Price is difinitely a factor.... but then the perks of CC plus the awesome time we spend on the balcony far outweighs the price decision for us.

This is a quote from the Celebrity site.

Beginning in 2005, the number of Celebrity ConciergeClass staterooms will more than double, from 100 to 228 staterooms per ship on Constellation, Infinity, Millennium and Summit. Formerly classified as categories 1A and 1B, "premium ocean-view with veranda" staterooms, each ConciergeClass stateroom is 191 square feet with a 41-square-foot veranda.

Guests booked in ConciergeClass staterooms are treated famously throughout their cruise, from the moment they arrive in their stateroom with a bottle of chilled champagne, fresh flowers and a selection of fruits, to the time they're ready to sleep, with tension-absorbing pillow-top mattresses, plush duvets and a pillow menu whose selections include conformance, body, goose down or Isotonic.

Additional ConciergeClass amenities include afternoon canapés, a leather key holder, personalized stationery, an oversized tote bag, an umbrella available to use throughout the cruise, and shoeshine service.

For guests who choose to linger in the comfort of their plush bedding, Celebrity offers a room service breakfast menu designed exclusively for ConciergeClass guests.

ConciergeClass bathroom amenities include plush bath rugs, oversized Egyptian cotton towels, double-thick Frette bathrobes, two hair dryers, a Hansgrohe showerhead, and a selection of fine shampoos, body lotions, soaps, shower caps, breath mints and a sewing kit.

Special services associated with ConciergeClass include priority luggage delivery, dining time and seating preferences, VIP invitations to exclusive shipboard events, priority shore excursion bookings, early embarkation and debarkation privileges, and a one-touch button on the phone to reach a ConciergeClass desk representative directly.

ConciergeClass amenities also extend to the veranda, which features a table large enough for dining al fresco, cushioned chairs, and high-powered binoculars for zooming in on captivating scenery throughout the cruise.

If you don't care about ocean/sea fresh air in your stateroom .. and no windows don't bother you...and you don't care upgraded linens.. then by all means downgrade and save the money.... the outside and veranda cabins get to the ports the same time inside staterooms do...

good luck.. Shannon let me know If you want me to update your room number on the group page..

Shannon - another thing in making your decision of cabin selection. Check the location..no matter if it's inside or balcony. We have found the worst cabins (noise wise) are the ones directly under an open deck, the cleaners hose down the decks at 2-3 am and slide and scrape the chairs on the floor making a ruckus. Other than the obvious daytime noises on the deck - a great one is being under the basketball court :) Also all the washing water cascades down onto your balcony (this is especially true of Aft cabins). Another bad location is near the lifeboats - when arriving in tender ports or private islands, they put the boats down as soon as they arrive at crack of dawn and the winch grinding noise is very disturbing. Once we also had a cabin opposite a "staff only" entrance... only to find out that they were clanging their carts in and out of there all night. Now we've got wise and always check the location of the cabin and even have our TA call the cruise line to check on surrounding areas that show just white or blank on the schematic.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm all about lux bedding. I guess it is twangs of maternal guilt, two kids in college and I'm laying out extra dinero for posh digs..... I'm sure I'll get over it.

Jackie- How can you tell if you will be a victim of lifeboat wenching from the schematic on the web site? How high up are the lifeboats stored?
