Good luck with your vacation request. What kind of work do you do?

I saw that you checked in for the deck party. We must be early birds...not much happening yet.

Hi Gail-

Yes, I am good at being an early bird. I think I am almost always early for everything. It's that "anal" side of me, I guess :grin:

I am a pharmacist at a very large urban hospital. We have about 450 beds and we are literally "bursting at the seams" right now. However, we are staffed in the pharmacy at about half the level we should be.

I will hang out for a little while, too. I would like to see if we break the record.

Whoops... forgot to thank you Joey for the countdown update. Lets see if it is 65 days till the cruise, it is 48 days till we leave for our vacation. Wow, it is really getting close.

Does anyone have an idea of how far in advance we should be contacting the bank and credit card companies of our iteneraries?

Oh Paula... what kind of international cel phone did you end up getting? did you rent or buy? We are still making up our mind aboutt his.

Paula,

I laughed when you said it was your anal side! I am a nuclear medicine tech and we reconsitiute all our radiopharmaceuticals in our radiopharmacy. Nuc Med techs have been known to be anal, especially me when it comes to work issues. I had a feeling you were in health care when you mentioned being in high demand. It is busy at our place also and continuing to grow. But we are always doing more with less people. I like my profession but not sure I care for the hectic pace and the fact that so much has become business and benchmarks and budget etc.

As you might have guessed-- I am a list maker! Usually the week before I leave, I start writing down everything I need to do, otherwise I can't rest. I wake up in the morning and I immediately start feeling stressed that I will forget something, so once I write it down, it's off my mind.

I ended buying a Siemens global phone from rangeroamer.com. It comes with an unlocked phone and a global SIM card. What I like about it is that you pay as you go and I own the phone, so next time I travel, I have it and can just add more air time. It also has the option of an 800 number to give to family and friends so that it does not cost them to call you.

We haven't heard from diane lately. I did see that she posted on the dark side yesterday. I do think i have heard her talk about her incrediable spreadsheet.

Who do you suppose has more fun? The list makers and the palnners or our other halves who do not seem to be a s complulsive as we crazies all seem to be ? :grin:

I just know i am in good company here! :smiley:
