JoeyandDavid
I told David we have to off of the ship by six he wasn't happy ... I need to make sure we are on the way to the airport by 7:30am am.. I take no chances.. I have heard stories of propel having to wait hours for a cab I am hoping Jackie or Mike or Margaret or some of the more experienced European cruisers can verify or dismiss this information. momwig
I am of the mind that most things work out right if we do all we can to make it happen and when they don't at least we tried our best. So stop worrying and enjoy!

zebra
One thing I'm not is a weather guru  Last time we went in September and it was Polo shirts, jeans and even shorts for men. I wore capri's. No sweaters. But as far as I can recall we are moving into their rainy season as well as late fall - so I would say pretty much jeans, polo & sweaters (think layers) maybe a light weight wind breaker. Yes jeans have become totally acceptable in Europe, by the way! Tony took all kinds of long pants (Dockers etc) and resorted to wearing mostly jeans after observing other men there. I think it's going to be pretty much a crap shoot - watch weather.com!!! Athens and Santorini should be a few degrees warmer. Anyone else travelled to Europe in November??? momwig
No matter what the weather short of a hurricane or blizzzard we can't help but have a great time
MikieF
Hi Joey...Wish I could help you with info about taxis in Venice. Never been there (and am looking forward to it!), sorry! Most airlines do want passengers at the airport 2 hrs. in advance for international travel, and much of Europe is very strict in their security checks. I would be at VCE BY 0900 (maybe 0845)....But I don't know about taxis or the proximity to the airport! It has been years since I have been to Athens, but in Nov. their weather used to be fabulous (mid 70's) during the day and coolish (60-65) at night. Almost a million years ago that is where Mike and I first met! We have not been back to ATH (together) since then; this will be our first. After we met, but before we began dating (11 yrs.!) I had been to Athens numerous times, as has Mike. It will be fun to see all the changes with their metro now! I remember the plaka area before it had 'glitzy' shops....great bargaining, and more humble shops! I am anxious to see if a friend I met in 1970 in Athens still owns a shop in the plaka! I'll bet he's aged....I still look the same, don't I?!! (HA!) This will be fun!!!!
zebra
Having the Games in Athens made ALL the difference. We were there a couple of weeks after the games and the transition...oh my goodness....a majorly clean city.
