Talking about tenders..I must tell you that from where the Millie anchors the tender approach into Dubrovnik is beautiful - a real Kodak moment, get your cameras ready.

Also the midday approach into Venice is "to die for" oh I can go on and on about how stunning this is - you must definately be on the starboard (right) side of the ship or on the bow. Be warned, get a place early. Magnifico!!!!

Tonia--

Yes, that would work out great if the six of us could share a taxi. I was in Venice with a group tour last year and I'm not sure if the boats we used were water taxis or not. Everything was coordinated by our tour director. If what we used were indeed water taxis--- they definitely would accomodate 6 people and their luggage!!

Thanks to Joey and you for finding out the story on the tenders and shuttles. I find it very hard to believe that they would charge for tenders--but I guess you never know. Hopefully with private guides, the shuttle will not be necessary-- Diane do you know?? Hopefully Jackie will find out something from Claudio.

As far as weather, when I was in Europe at the end of October last year, the weather was all over the map!! It was very cold in Vienna, but bright and sunny; Venice was damp and rainy, but not really cold; France (Paris and Savigny Les Beaume) was beautiful-- 60's, dry and sunny. I think you kind of have to plan for all and I found dressing in layers was the best bet!

Thanks again for the wealth of info-- you guys are the best!!

Thanks Paula for the great weather info. I've just realised weather temeratures are pretty subjective. Here in Florida, 60's is winter cool. We'd need sweaters. Anything below 70 is cold to us. Of course if you come from up north 70 could probably be balmy

No matter what the weather - I'm going to have a great time. Cold & rain won't get me down, it's just wonderful to have the privilege to go to Europe again.
