We also seem to need 3 pieces of checked luggage, one of which is a rolling duffel bag when we take longer cruises with extra days at either end. We weigh them at home and make sure they are 45 lbs max.

we have two roll ons at #44 ea 1 garmet bag at #25 and one large utility bag at #20

plus 1 out carry on... I think we did good

I think that would be fine. All of us should be there. I think there are 12 of us. Will try to find out how many will fit per taxi (with all of our luggage).

Hi Everyone!

Margaret, glad to hear your surgery went well. I have been debating for years whether or not to have it done, but I'm a little nervous. My vision is SO bad, that I am afraid that I can not be corrected sufficiently enough to not still need glasses/contacts. So for now, it's contacts for me!

Thanks for the update on the taxi situation. I agree that we should meet at some point ahead of time to work out the details.

I don't know how many of you have been paying attention to the Weather Channel lately, but we (the Western New York area) got socked with a REALLY early snow storm last night. This was the earliest date on record to get this much snow. I got about 12 inches of heavy, wet snow. The biggest problem was that all of the trees still had their leaves and there are MANY trees down and more than 250,000 people in the area with no power. Fortunately, I do have power and very little damage. I feel very blessed; most people had a lot of damage and some of my family still do not have power.

Paula -- We'd heard about snow in Chicago and Michigan -- but I just saw a report about Buffalo on the evening news. Wow! You really got socked. Just goes to show that when planning travel there is so much to think about .

Pat and I are staying at the Al Ponte Antico, but it's sure nice to know that we won't have to schlep over to the Piazzale Roma to catch a water taxi!

I know we probably have covered this ... but All Saints day is Nov 1st and we will be in Florence.... it says in the book all banks shops etc are closed ....

Does this mean NO PRADA or Leather for me in Florence

Tonia -- Back in June I questioned Claudio about any changes to our schedule in Pisa and Florence and he replied, "I confirm the Museums opened on November 1st. There is no change in scheduled programs." We are supposed to go to the leather markets so think we should be OK.
