terumim
La Villa Cuisine Mediterranean Hours Tues-Sun 1-3pm and 8pm-midnight Address Praia do Estoril 3 Location Estoril, Around Town Reservations Reservations recommended Phone 21/468-00-33 Prices Main courses 15€-22€ ($17-$25) Credit Cards AE, DC, MC, V Frommer's Review Although it doesn't equal such a deluxe citadel as the Four Seasons, this well-run restaurant is one of the leading dining rooms along the Estoril coast. The restaurant is installed in a palace from the 18th-century and opens onto the local beach, Praia do Tamariz. Prepare yourself for some fine dining, beginning with one of the featured pasta and rice dishes, perhaps shrimp with garlicky aïoli sauce or spaghetti vongole with coriander-flavored clams. Count on a fresh grilled fish of the day, perhaps sea bass. The latter is also served under a potato crust. One winning dish is braised black pork filet served with a wild Moroccan rice in a light curry sauce, or roast breast of duck with a medley of tempura-style spring vegetables. The chef is also known for his desserts, including an exotic selection of homemade sorbets, or you can order a Belgian chocolate soufflé. In Santorini the dining room was open seating, and they also had a Greek Buffet Poolside. We opted for the Olympic Restaurant that night. Pre Cruise Get Together in Barcelona<] After an enjoyable few hours there, we hopped back on the bus back to Las Rambla in the hopes of finding a nice little cafe to enjoy a glass of wine. By total chance we found the La Villa Restaurant which is directly on Las Rambla across from the Le Meridien hotel. We sat outside and had a few glasses of very nice red wine. I spoke with the Manager, Luis to see if it would be possible for my group to have dinner there that night which he gratiously arranged. This man was the nicest guy! His english is not great but his warmth and willingness to please was without compare! He only charged us 8 Euro for 2 glasses of wine and 2 bottles of water. We returned later that night with the group of 14 and he gave us all complimentary Tapas before dinner, free sangria ( several pitchers) and presented us with platter after platter of desserts, again all on the house! The food was very good and reasonable at approximately 14 Euro per person for an entree. They have a varied menu and all ordered was excellent. Most had the seafood paella, which was presented tableside and served. We wanted for nothing and were treated like family.

zebra
This La Villa review says it's across from Le Meridien on Las Ramblas. We stayed there and it is at the top of Las Ramblas, not near the water.
PaulaW
To update list: Special Celebrations Paul's retirement Oct 5th. Gail and Paul's 6th anniversary, Nov 5th, David (joeyanddavid) Birthday October 31 **Suanne's Birthday is on October 29th Diane's Birthday, Oct 30 (60 but who's counting) Diane and Lou's 4th Wedding Anniversary, Oct 5 Trish's Birthday Oct. 26th I am little confused about La Villa's location now. Is it possible there is more than one location?
JoeyandDavid
Le Meridien hotel lists its address as 111 Las Rambla ..<] If this is a correct address we must assume the address of the resturant is it is approximately 115-109 Las Rambla .. While our hotel the Continental Palacete is 30 las Rambla And her sister hotel continental Barcelona is 138 las Rambla I would say La Villa is just north of the Hotel Barcelona at 109 or so Wouldn’t you agree? zebra
Yes Joey I would agree. Le Meridien was very, very close to Placa de Catalunya and the Palacete is just north of the Placa. So we have to walk around the Placa (a round square?) and down Las Ramblas just a very short distance - this restaurant will be not far down. I think your estimation on address is a pretty close guestimate. By the way Hotel Continental Palacete isn't on Las Ramblas - it's address is Rambla (Road/Way) de Catalunya,
JoeyandDavid
whew .. i am so lucky to have you guys catching my goofs
Love2Travel
Thanks Joey for the list you put together for all of us. Next, I too, am confused. The review on CC has La Villa in one location...the review from Frommers list another location. Perhaps the name is wrong but it sounds like whichever restaurant is located across from Le Meridian is where we should plan for. I am sure Tonia will scope it out for us. No matter where we meet it will be great fun.
