Ok Jackie... this is scarey, i was thinking the same thing. Hopefuly the hotel can help tonia.

Tonia, thanks for your work on this. Glad we know the restaurant is where we thought it was and that it is the same restaurant that was talked about on the CC board. i am sure that it will all work out.

Found this info on the vatican / sistene chapel reservations. May be of interest for some. I have heard the lines are long and having reservations will help.

Thanks for clarifying everything with restaurant!! Everything makes more sense now!

What's even better is that our hotel's address is 124 La Rambla and the restaurant is 122--- it should be right next door! I think we'll be able to find it :wink:

Thank you sooooooooo much Gail..... i emailed the hotel hoping they will send a menu ... then i can post it here .....i have made my list of few other restaurants.. i plan to try while we are there ...

well i am thinking of just hiring a driver for florence /pisa that way we can go where we want ...and for 320 thats not to bad ....

By any chance, are you interested in splitting the 320E cost for Florence/Pisa driver? We were going to sign up for Florence on your own Celebrity excursion just for the transport to Florence. We are just looking for a way to Florence without doing the taxi and train route. I have heard that the Celebrity buses leave you in outskirts and you have to walk a bit to get into the center of florence to where the sites are located.

I think doing Florence on your own without a guide is doable. I hear it is a very walkable city. We are planning on making reservations for the Accademia to see DAVID.

Glad the email to the restaurant was a help. Hopefully you get a response that is written in English ;-)

Hello again...man this board is hoping!!

Per your request...a little about us...

My wife's name is Amy. We will be celebrating our 3rd Wedding Anniversary on Nov. 22nd (we've been together around 11 years). We are in our mid to late thirties...I'm the older one (just south of 40). I am a sales manager for an air conditioning and heating company and Amy is a licensed insurance agent who works for a firm specializing in insurance for associations. We live in Gaithersburg Maryland which is just outside of Washington DC. Amy and I both enjoy travelling internationally and also love cruising (especially on Celebrity). Of all the ports we will be visiting the only one we have been to is Barcelona (I think in 1998).

We are arriving on 10-28 and are staying at the Hotel 1898 which is located on Las Ramblas. Both of us are really looking forward to this trip and all the great ports of call. Amy is really looking forward to basket after basket of the Celebrity breadsticks. I'm looking forward to sitting on my balcony and smoking one Cuban cigar after another.

The other couple traveling with us is Howard and Gloria. They are staying in a CC cabin (not sure which one). Howard and I are in a poker group that has been playing together for about 13 years. Hopefully a couple of people on this board like playing poker and we can get a game together.

I'm really looking forward to meeting everybody.

ps. I've started my "cruse diet" today so I can fit into the smaller of my Tuxedo's. I'm planning to drop about 50 pounds by time the plane takes off for Barcelona. Hopefully if I share my diet plans I'll be able to stick to it. :smiley:
