Hey Joey the "Must Haves" Olive Oil, Linen etc - the prices were similar to USA prices probably a bit more if you include the exchange rate. The quality FAR SUPERIOR!!!!

I'm bringing back as much as we can carry in our carry ons!!!! There's no substitute here for Provencal Herbs and Italian or Greek Spices (the ones they use in their Greek salad dressing) also the spices to make paella - available at El Corte Ingles Barcelona - not available here!! These are food items unique to those countries. Oooooh can't wait!

Now to answer my own question so our budget per port is $150.00.

And will be very happy if we dont spend it :grin:

Hi Gang,

Have not been posting often but have been lurking and keeping up with the postings. Welcome to all the new posters. We will have a great group.

All though we are not staying at the same hotel post cruise as some of you are, here is our info.

Hotel Sofitel Venezia - Nov. 10th

Flight from Venice to Milan connecting to New York departure is 7:25AM on Nov. 11. We will be flying Alitalia RT from JFK.

Sure wish we were coming over a day or two earlier and meeting you for dinner pre-cruise. Sounds wonderful but we will be looking forward to seeing you on board the Millie.

Hope all of you are having a good summer. We have been having a lot of things going on. My father passed away May 19th, have had one of our GD's for a week, been to several funerals for friends, trip to Montreal and it is only July!!! :shocked:

Joey - we're totally with you will be happy if we spend less per day. We probably will except for the day we purchase linens. We really loved the linens in France (Provence) we bought a couple of round table cloths and napkins but have since changed our table to a rectagular one, so we're also in the market for table linens.

Great to have new people join us - this is going to be the BEST group!!! :grin:

This is the same "Mary Ann" that will be joining your private tour in Naples. Sorry if my posting sounded like I was a newbie just joining this thread. I know it has been a while since I posted but did not think you would have forgotten me that soon. :cry: (Just Kidding)

I went to a site for a private guide/driver in Santorini and saw awesome pictures. Getting so excited about this cruise!! Reading several reviews on different boards and getting some good tips on what to buy where. Do not plan on doing a great deal of shopping but will want a few things. Counting on you, Jackie, to give us some good tips, too.

This is our 4th cruise. Ken is in semiconductors and I am a critical care RN.

We will be in Barcelona prob. the morning of departure. We are playing around with a few pre and post ideas, but nothing set yet. I really want to go to Malaga, so maybe we will do that. We will be in cabin #8067. We have not sailed Celebrity yet and are looking forward to the experience.

Mary Ann....no never.. I wouldn't forget you!!! So glad you and Tom are going to join in the fun with us in Naples. What an awesome port - there's nothing like the Amalfi coast. I've often wondered why people go to Naples and never experience Amalfi - it's too spectacular!! Amalfi and Santorini are both such a relief in spectacular natural beauty, after the awesome historical wonders of the other ports.
