Cruisergal
Joey, Here is another part of the info I received. The mini van is new and air-conditioned and guide speaks fluently English. Thank you for your precious time Anna J
Cruisergal
Here are some comments by someone that has used Nikos. I cannot remember what time we met up with Nikos but we were one of the first tenders out and up the gondola. We did all the places they suggested on their website...Oia Village, Kamari Beach, Profit Elias, and Santo Winery. Also he took us to the most famous and favorite place to get a pic of what is on all the postcards. He showed us where the movie Sisterhood of Traveling Pants was filmed (which I got a kick out of the movie) and the movie Summer Lovers ( I don't remember the movie but our friends did) It lasted the whole five hours. The only thing I would do different is get a gyro for a quick lunch during the tour. We opted to have a cheese tray at the winery but was still hungry. Cheesetray was nothing to brag about and the wine wasn't great either but still fun to do. The gyros are the greatest... After the tour we had him drop us in town so we can shop there as we did not do any shopping during the tour.
zebra
Kareen - I was thinking the same thing about the size of our group! You know we discovered inEurope that they don't/can't split the checks like they do here - so maybe this will also pose a problem - they'll want to bill the entire group. Tonia, can you find out about this? Maybe from your hotel management? I haven't heard of LA FONDA but we are easy - whatever everyone decides on we'll go along with, as long as they serve Paella. JoeyandDavid
or we could all get small tables and asked to be seated close to each other ..LOL
zebra
Yeah Joey I was thinking that too - whatever works!!! Mary Ann/Joey - we did a tour on Santorini last time as well, it was terrific. We had one of the best meals of our entire trip at Kamari Beach, awesome and so was the setting! Having done this before we now know where to go and know how easy it is to travel the island so we'll do it on our own this time. It's such a super island - you must make the most of it! Joey I must say I was a little concerned when I think you indicated that you only wanted to go up to the town - Fira - I think you will be very disappointed if you only do this - gotta see Oia!!!!!! JoeyandDavid
I was serious Jackie ... experience does have its rewards... hows this .... did you hear of the guy that traded a big red paper clip for a house? How about this...........I trade a collectors item lapel pin for a tour guide...in Santorini.. (I am just teasing.. just couldn't resist the joke )
Love2Travel
I am definitely looking forward to Santarini- Maryann, your tour looks wonderful. I am sure you will have a great time. We are probably going to opt for the public bus. We will go to Oia for sure and would like to go to the Kamari Beach....opposite sides of the island I think. I can't remember off hand. I wonder if the water would still be warm for swimming? As far as the dinner, we are up for anything. small tables are fine. perhaps we would be better able to talk that way. whatever works out is fine with us. we just think it will be fun to get together. Thanks for all the work on this Tonia and everyone else for all of their input and translation efforts. ;-)
chachabell
Re dinner -- whatever works is OK with us. I agree that it appears that La Villa is trying to accommodate our large group with a couple of standard items. Smaller tables would make conversation easier. Access to a more varied menu would probably work better for those who have specific likes and dislikes.
