well all i can say is give me the list of people on where they are staying... i will be checking it out when i get there la villa and la fonda see which we can get off the menu prices...and can handle a large group ...

hey this is suppose to be vacation .... right ....it will all work out...

i know one thing i will be looking for is the chocolate croissant i saw on the restaurant review.. YUMO

I'm so excited about the pins!! Thank you so much for your generosity--you're very sweet! I'll be checking my mailbox regularly for them.

Tonia-- whatever you think about the restaurant. 27 euros is a lot to spend and I tend to a bit fussy about what I eat. I am not a big seafood fan, so something with some variety would be good. Trish will eat anything-so she's easy!

I guess keep us posted and thank you for all of your legwork!

one question .. why does our gathering have to be a meal? what about a group tour of some sort maybe get together for a museum....just an idea .. a thought if you will

Our get together doesn't need to be a meal. But since we are all arriving at different times and have different interests, and will be packing in as much sightseeing as possible during our time in Barcelona, I am not in favor of meeting for sightseeing. We all have to eat at some point that evening. If the dinner doesn't work out (but I think it will) we could always meet at a designated time after we board.

OK...OK Joey I heeded your advice - checked on my flight schedule and guess what!!! :huh: :huh:

They have changed our flight coming back from Venice and that's not all - we arrive in JFK at 2:55 pm but they have us scheduled to leave JFK for Tampa @ 1:35 pm..... DUH!!!! After speaking to an indifferent booking agent we have changed our flight out - we now fly Air France via Paris at 10:05 am.

Don't you just love the airlines???? Please everyone keep checking your itineraries!!

We had six casual nights and three informal nights.

In Santorini the dining room was open seating, and they also had a Greek Buffet Poolside. We opted for the Olympic Restaurant that night.

Pre Cruise Get Together in Barcelona

After an enjoyable few hours there, we hopped back on the bus back to Las Rambla in the hopes of finding a nice little cafe to enjoy a glass of wine. By total chance we found the La Villa Restaurant which is directly on Las Rambla across from the Le Meridien hotel. We sat outside and had a few glasses of very nice red wine. I spoke with the Manager, Luis to see if it would be possible for my group to have dinner there that night which he gratiously arranged. This man was the nicest guy! His english is not great but his warmth and willingness to please was without compare! He only charged us 8 Euro for 2 glasses of wine and 2 bottles of water. We returned later that night with the group of 14 and he gave us all complimentary Tapas before dinner, free sangria ( several pitchers) and presented us with platter after platter of desserts, again all on the house! The food was very good and reasonable at approximately 14 Euro per person for an entree. They have a varied menu and all ordered was excellent. Most had the seafood paella, which was presented tableside and served. We wanted for nothing and were treated like family.
