Beach Towels

Can someone tell me if the ship provides the large beach towels or should I carry my own.

One of our ongoing games is titled: "The Packing (Not) Game, Stuff not to pack for your cruise!"

Just wondering? I've seen attendants take the bath towels off the lounging chairs and through them into the laundry cart. If these people did not return their towels to their room, did they get charged for them?
