JoeyandDavid
Hi Cheryl.... congratulations on the double pain windows... they do tend to improve the quality of life.. Do you care to share which hotel you guys are staying at ?? We are at the comfort suites and I think Avie and Betty are at the Marriott what time are you guys scheduled to be getting in ? ... The alcohol policy is a new one or should i say they are acting like they want to be stricter with it.. we will see :undecided: As far as Barbara wine.. if you have a fav I would be glad to look for a bottle and bring it to FLL for you I agree the prices are cheaper than a restaurant it's just the selection leaves a lot to be desired..just my opinion... Have you guys given any thought to excursions?? joey
avie
Good afternoon -- Joey: Since you are on an earlier trip, you will be able to report to us on the current "alcohol" program!!! In the event your "test case" falls prey to the long arm of X and its scanning equipment, I will gladlyh participate in its replacement! Cheryl: You live in one of my most favorite areas of the country -- I used to spend much time in the Bay area, and have been in Walnut Creek numerous times. I go back to the days of the dark ages when I would go to see Mort Sahl at the hungry I. Of more recent vintage, some of my most favorite restaurants are in SF. I put on weight just thinking about them. I agree -- "Domaine" makes an outstanding pinot. I'm also very fond of the Saintsbury "Coneros" -- While on board Summit, I expect that you will probably eat (dine) in L'Normandie at least once. I recall with ecstasy the most wonderful meals and service we had in the Ocean Dining room on the Connie, and I assume that the alternative dining room on Summit will be equally as good. Having just returned from LaLa Land, the heat index in DC is not too bad. stay cool!! Avie

They have things for the beach communities already(Aruba, And the west coast of mexico.... I just wish they would get it going on the more remote ports.. cherole
Joey: We arrive at 4PM to FLL on 19th. We'll be traveling with friends who are going on the ship with us. We are staying at Embassy Suites near the cruise port. No need to track down any S.B. area wines, just thought it'd be fun to visit the region again. Thanks for the offer Actually, I don't think we'll do the special restaurant. We went to the heuty-teuty restaurant on Millennium and were not all that impressed for the added cover charge. It wasn't bad, and the ambience is excellent, but we were turned off by the 'traditional' caesar style salad. I forgot the name of it, Olympic maybe??? Avie: You live in D.C? Back at ya, I like it there, too. But, wouldn't trade living in my native state for anything!! (Mainly because of weather). Except a vacation home in Hawaii for part of the year, but not 100%. As for excursions, we will go snorkeling on Aruba. The rest is yet to be figured out, although there is some sort of Fiesta sail at one of the Mexico stops that sounds kind of fun. I'd love to do zip line or something in Costa Rica, but Ole doesn't like heights. I want to see animal life, toucans, monkeys etc.

Joey, We have lived in Condo Canyon in Alexandria -- Then to Reston, and were in Reston from '76 until this past September. We now have a condo just over the line in Loudoun County. Guess I still like the commute into DC! (I work in the L'Enfant area directly across from the Smithsonian Castle.) Avie
