Jackie will have information she is doing the same ports .. however she is sailing Princess and the contracts might differ... but I am sure she will become a great go to contact with loads of questions... and rest assured I will interview her throughly while on the Millie...
zebra
I sure will share as much about the ports that I can with you when we get back. Received our Shore Excursion book yesterday - it's huge - oh my goodness just more confusion!!!
JoeyandDavid
Jackie if you read this .. what did your book say about the railroad between two oceans thingy....
avie
Joey, I looked at the Princess website, and it appears that the tours in Panama Canal are essentially identical to those offered (or will be offered) by Celebrity. I presume that there are a limited number of contractors providing the tours, and they offer the same to all the cruiselines. My main concern -- out of sheer ignorance -- is whether the contractors have sufficient physical resources to provide the "popular" tours to those who would like them. But I guess the cruise lines/contractors have that detail worked out. I'm still looking at the rail trip. Back to packing up my office. We are going to be moved out of our current space the end of this month, to space in another building about a block away while our area is going through asbestos removal and installation of a sprinkler system. The powers-to-be estimate that we will return in 60 to 90 days. Thankfully, the electronic world helps, so our telephone numbers will go with us. And, of course, most of our work, files, archives, etc will be available electronically. However, the best laid plans, etc. etc. etc. Avie
JoeyandDavid
I have discovered that they normally can accommodate a good amount of people ... The trick is to purchase your excursions early .. they will sell out... I think we to are going to look at the rail...I ask Jackie what the Princess book had to say about it hopefully she will post what it says .. Good luck with the move... I love that town...
zebra
I am taking my excursion book with me to Melbourne (to the grandkids) today - and hopefully will get a bit of free time to look through it. As soon as I know the answer I'll let you know.
avie
Jackie, Thanks, and have a great ride across state. Looking forward to your comments. Avie
cherole
Soooooo, no one's yet mentioned our latest little airline issue. OK, I CANNOT fly anwhere without lots of handlotion and lip balm/gloss. I realize this is a cruise site, but we usually need airplanes to get us to cruise ports (or home). NOT to mention my fabulous little carryone toiletry suitcase that I just bought with the wheels & handle that I was SO stoked about using for all of my carryon toiletries without killing my shoulders. I realize it sounds petty in the scheme of things, but it's the little things that make travel successful, yes???????
JoeyandDavid
Cheryl.... I know what you mean..... times are changing.... hopefully when its time to fly you may have some of the luxuries you seek... who knows maybe some enterprising airline may have "samples".... BTW we discuss anything here ...
