Roll Call Celebrity Sumitt 01/20/2007

Good morning,

Last night I put on my dark shades, appropriate disguises, took a deep breath, and, in a moment of madness, jumped over to the dark side. I went on to a thread with those on the Summit 11/25/2006 westbound cruise through the PC (similar to ours). I was interested in finding out about the excursions for "Panama Canal (cruising)" that were offered on the 11/25/2006 trip, hoping that I could get a clue about the excursions for ours. (I have been unsuccessful in getting any information from Celebrity other than the excursions are being updated and to check back later!) The only reply I have received so far advised that NO excursions for PC (cruising) have been listed to date, and, further, suggested that there may be none!!!

Perhaps, those of you who know persons that have been on X's westbound PC cruises in the near past or are going on one of the trips soon can query them and find out (generally) about the excursions that were, or have been offered.

I don't know if Celebrity offers the same excursion. But, if you are going to Puntarenas, Costa Rica - we did the "Costa Rica Favorites" excursion (pricey) but BY FAR the highlight of our cruise. It was spectacular, you do a cruise down a river, and an aerial tram through the canopy of the forest, included was a mid morning fruit buffet and then at lunch time at the Rainforest we had a buffet style lunch - all excellent!! There airconditioned coaches are also the latest and greatest, extremely comfortable. It was operated by Elite.

AND, do the latest & greatest coaches have bathrooms?????

My mom told me that whe she did the PC cruise in 1994, they took a bus on a 2 lane road to their excursion and that there was an accident so they were stuck. In order to not miss the ship, they had to abandon the excursion after they got out of traffic and head back to the ship. The fear in me is that I'd be stuck in a bus for hours with no bathroom! Sorry to be so obessive, but it's a concern.

I would imagine Cheryl that most Cruiseline endorsed excursions.. make sure the guests are well provided for.. This is not a guarantee.. but a guess on my part

The excursion on Princess looks fabulous!!! I didn't see an equivilent on our trip; but, I've sent an email to Celebrity to find out. Hopefully, we can come up with an equal.
