hey guys in order to help pass the time i have extended a challenge to another roll call..Princess Star is sailing the same day as we do in January ..

We will be having a contest to see which roll call has the most posts so they have accepted..

Joey, on the evening of the crossing we docked in Cristobal/Colon. We were only there for 4 hours, it has a craft market on the pier that's all. We've done this before so we went to a movie onboard instead.

Here's the latest scoop on Panama excursions courtesy of the Captain's Club --

"Kindly note that at this time we are currently working to confirm tour allotments with our Tour Operators in Panama. Shore Excursions will be available for viewing during the last week of October."

Here's an except I found in an excursion brochure on X's website for another cruise transiting the PC (the 11/11/2006 Summit eastbound cruise):

"For ships entering from the Caribbean Sea (East) that will sail through the entire length of the Panama Canal and will stop at Fuerte Amador; the only excursions in Panama available are the ones offered in the port of Fuerte Amador, Panama."

Since we will be stopping at Fuerte Amador and not Cristobal Pier, I now believe that we will not have available the daytime excursions such as the train or the aerial trams. Hopefully, the quoted restriction will not be applicable to our cruise -- but that probably is more wishful thinking than reality.

Since you are much more knowledgeable than I (and significantly more optimistic), what is your take?

I may be more optimistic, however i gafaw at the thought of being more knowledgeable.

Avie you maybe correct.

I never thought of the difference between seeing the same itinerary from two seperate directions... It could possibly means we get into areas at a different times thus not having certain excursions (train) availible to us.. I guess we will have to wait and see.. but it does make some sort of sense..
