The Fort Lauderdale gathering is in the process of final selection of the restaurant within a 6-8 block radius of all of this group that will be in a hotel on the 19th .. it looks like it will be around 8 o'clock or so ..... is that a good time or bad time for you guys .. you have to eat dinner anyways was my thinking... One option on the table is Outback Steak House. There are quiet a few other choices and flavors as well... the information should be complete by then middle of next week...

Hi guys,

We arrive FLL 07:40 PM.

Ooo, I don't know! By the time we wait baggage claim & get to hotel, it's going to be 8:30 I imagine. We could show up late. If we have any type of delay, we would be no-shows. Can you put us down just in case? As you say, we have to eat anyway! There are 4 of us. I'm assuming our friends would come also.

Since I'm on the borderline, I don't want to be too opinionated. But, I would suggest or ask if there is anything possibly that is more uniquely Floridian?? I have never been to Florida. I can go to Outback at home. But, having said that, I do like Outback, so no issues there. I'll be happy to go there if it is the best choice.

Eightish may work out for us -- we'll arrive relatively early afternoon, but Marsha and Ray wil be getting in early evening. I don't have any idea where we are staying with relation to your hotel. (We are probably closer to the airport.) But we'll probably have a car. I vote for other than Outback -- perhaps seafood! (Yes, it may even be local!) What are your druthers?

So, when I ran this past Ole and mentioned Outback, he got all excited about their rack of lamb. We don't go there often, at all, but I guess the lamb left an impression on him. When we go to visit my mom, Outback is the nicest restaurant in town. Sad, isn't it. She lives in Sierra Vista, AZ. Mostly military and retirees.

Anyway, as I said, we're fine with whatever is the best choice for location/convenience. We'll be at the mercy of a cab. If it could be 8:30, that may be better, but we can always just come & sit down late as well. Or, shall we get accustomed to our late dining seating time??

there is also a brew pub... if you know what those are... Miss C and Wayne promised to visit our area to see what options are availible...

In the meantime...I will lobby for 8:30 cheryl... :wink2:

Damn lobbyist :laugh: 8:30 sounds good for us (we will be meeting Marsha and Ray at their motel around 7:30ish)- count us (4) in -- wherever. Actually the brew pub sounds good (especially the brew portion).

Perhaps you could send (post) the Comfort Inn at which you will be staying. That way, I can invoke Mapquest and find out the area were are talking about (and how to get there).
