chachabell
Hope everyone has a wonderful cruise. Joey, I'm interested in your thoughts of the various ports as we are doing the PC in April 08. Leave tomorrow for the S.Caribbean on the Galaxy. cherole
Joey-You are the best activity director ever! Also, remind that manager of all of the exposure/publicity they are getting on this board. And save some appetizers for us You have a direct flight to FLL from LAX? On who? We can't do that from SFO. JoeyandDavid
Have you guys heard about the increasing gang violence in Acapulco? Shootings and grenades and more all over drug territory? Does this concern you at all? If you're not aware of the situation .. just google "Acapulco gang war" or something similar and check it out.. avie
The answer is yes -- travel in many parts of Mexico is scary -- and has been so for quite a long time. You may want to check out the following website: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_970.html It is the consular information sheet for Mexico. Although it covers many areas, you want to check out the portions on "crime" and "safety". The information is updated regularly, and is considered up to date. After all, these are you tax dollars at work, and represent dollars well-spent. (My friends at State even use these and other State travel databases in planning their own personal and business travel.) I don't believe there are any official "warnings" for Mexico at the present time, but, nevertheless, there are "cautions" about which you should be aware. cherole
Yikes! I realize traveling anywhere has risks. We were pick-pocketed in Rome in 1999. Textbook case! Kind of scary. Thanks for the heads up.
JoeyandDavid
Tonia I am always thinking.. that is what scares the Heck out of David I do know that the beginnings of a great adventure for 08 will be made sometime around April or may when all the itineraries finally get released...Maria (teacp) and I have been kicking around some ideas..we (and i am just speaking for David and myself) just didn't want to do the Caribbean thingy yet again.. It's a big small world..
