New Cruise Review: Celebrity Zenith

Popsec has submitted his review of his cruise last week aboard the Celebrity Zenith. The ship set sail on May 20th to Bermuda. Here are some details from her review:

It was interesting comparing Popsec's review with ours. Some similarities, some differences.

Similar - room and room attendant only so-so at best, good food, no excursions (although we had one scheduled for St. George, but it was cancelled because the ship didn't go to St. George).

Differences. Popsec had good weather and unfriendly fellow cruisers. After two days of good weather, we had weather so bad the last two days that we didn't go to St. George at all, cut our day off at 1:30 on day three, and couldn't even go ashore on the last day (day 4) until less than 3 hours before the ship left. So our cruise which should have had about 3 3/4 days on land had less than 2.5. On the other hand, we found our fellow passengers quite friendly (and not all that elderly), and that helped make up for some of the bad things.

Entertainment - good (very good)

Service - Excellent (good)

Cabin - fair (fair)

Food - Excellent (very good)

Overall - Excellent (very good)

The low rating of the cabin by both of us segues into our thread regarding cabin size on Celebrity. For us, if the cabin is only fair and the room attendant isn't very good, both the cruise and the service are less than excellent.

Since we will cruising the Zenith for New Year both of these reviews grabbed our interest. Great job popsec and Joanandjoe. Kind of reminds us of our Horizon cruise, which for us was a very good cruise.

Since ANY cruise is a good cruise, it's hard writing negatives. The service was so good in the restaurant, bars and casual dining that it more than made up for the so-so stateroom service....hence the excellent rating. The passengers are a small part of the cruise and we still managed to meet some really nice people. :smiley:
