When do you think the plane will leave Chicago

 Hi Guys. Been way to busy as usual to post much. Sorry about that. I try to get here as often as possibe and today I am off but my schedule is packed. I have a quick question. As we bought our air thru Princess for our South Pacific cruise in August we will not be given the air schedule until 30 days B4 departure and I need to know sooner than that allows to request a work schedule that will give me enough days ahead of time to prepare. The cruise embarks Aug. 16th though you can board Aug. 15th and use it as a hotel so to speak. Given that we are crossing the dateline what day do you think the plane will actually leave ORD? My guess is the 13th to arrive 15th morning. Any ideas? Thank you.

Princess should be able to give you that info now. Not flight numbers and times, but they should be able to say which day. You should look into flights on your own, and compare prices, and schedules. You may either want to book your own air, or book custom air on Princess which allows you to pick your flights. You may alos want to look into getting there a day or 2 earlier to adjust for jet lag. Where are you flying to?

 Thank you. We fly to Papeete. Actually I looked extensively into getting separate air and it wasn't much different than what Princess offered. Unfortunately to don't have the time to get in early We both work in hospitals where summer time vacation, i.e. "prime time" is limited to two weeks and we need a few days aftet the cruise for jet lag B4 returning to work. I can try caling Princess.

  I should add I bought the vacation thru Costco and it was they who told me about not knowing the air schedule until 30 days B4 the crusie begins. I got the impression it was Princess who would not tell them until 30 days B4 the cruise. We'll see

Right. Based on the world clock web site, http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ (but you have to go to the Australia/Pacific page to find Papeete), it's 3:45 p.m. Thursday in Chicago, 10:45 a.m. Thursday in Papeete, a five hour time difference. So arriving on the same day makes sense if you leave Chicagoland early in the morning.

Have a wonderful cruise in an exotic location. Presumably you'll be on one of the under 1,000 PAX, former Renaissance ships.

 Thank you. The ship is the former ren. R4 BTW and the reviews are very good. we once went to Fiji and then we did cross the dateline. When I saw a map I realized that Tahiti is practically due south of Hawaii. I mistakenly thought is was closer to Fiji.
