schatje
We have been doing cruising for the past several years but this year we are invited to go spend a week in my DH's cousins timeshare in Cabo San Lucas in October for the price of a plane ticket, in exchange for making them 3 stained glass windows for their Rec room. Then 5 weeks later we are going on our B2B aboard the Star Princess. We have not been to Cabo before but I understand that it is a popular cruise port so I will report back what is available. It should be interesting to see what it is like from the other side, seeing all the cruise people come and go for a week.
zebra
Mary we loved Cabo and you're going at a good time of the year! We also did it on the Star Princess - beautiful ship. The only B2B we did was of the E & W Caribbean once, we did the W Carib on the golden Princess, disembarked in Ft. Lauderdale and embarked immediately onto the Grand Princess - unfortunately we had to pack and unpack again but it was a wondrful 2 weeks spent with DH and my Mom & Dad from South Africa. KeithnRita
Our annual non-cruise vacation is week 20 at Siesta Key, in which we just returned. We own a one week timeshare at Sea Club V and we just love the place. The first time we went as renters before we married and have only missed one year since 1996. That was when we took the GK's and families to Disney.
Mebert
I take land vacations only on special occasions like weddings or events that very special friends set up. My main focus in life right now is to seek out cruises for my vacation. I've really got the cuise bug bad right now because I started cruising so late in life. I really regret that I didn't start 20 years ago. I might have gotten the cruise sickness out of my system by now.

Now why on Earth would you want to do that?   My friends and family who haven't cruised before don't understand my obsession with cruises. I'm still trying to convince them to come along. However, I have to be patient. I was one of them just three years ago. Since my sister has been on a cruise, the rest of my family are beginning to see the light. schatje and matchstickxx, You both are probably right.   I thought there was something wrong with me.
jacketwatch
 We are new to cruising so I think for a while it'll be cruises, cruises and more cruises. We did go to Hawaii in 2004 (Big island) and for a place like that there is so much to see its impractical to not be land based.
JoeyandDavid
I agree Jacketwatch.. what hotel did you guys use?
jacketwatch
 We stayed at the Outrigger Marriott Waikoloa and really liked it. It has a nice beach though perhaps not the best one but on the Kona side its pretty rocky. Also its right across the street for the Kings Shops which is convienent for shopping, restaurants, etc. I was pleasantly surprised at how much one can do on the BI. we spent 9 days there and really could have used a few more.
