Cell Phones????

There has been much discussion on cell phones at sea. What do you think? Would you use them? Would you check in with work?

I bring it with me but don't use it. While we're gone DS will be home but I won't be calling him or leaving my phone on. If he needs us he can call RCI and get us if necessary.

I don't mind if people use them discreetly but don't want to hear them at dinner, show, on deck, etc. If I wanted to hear phones ring I could stay home!

I agree with you..I think it might be a good idea if you are leaving someone behind that is ill so that you can reached in a case of emergency but as a rule no. I don't want to hear phones ringing all day which we know would happen...........I think the emergency number for the ship is enough.........

Yes, but I'm sure you would respect the other passengers Joey.

I agree about emergencies, on our last trip on the Sovereign a woman we had dinner with had an emergency with her daughter and the phone rang at dinner. We didn't mind at all for that purpose. Emergencies are one thing but just talking to someone is another.

We always have our cell phone with us and we check in with home every time we get OFF the ship. We always call my Dad...he lives with us. We also call both of our sons. But we do that when we're on an excursion...not on the ship. I also don't want to hear cell phones ringing while on a ship.

Also, hubby has to call in to work. He works in homeland security and is on call...even when he's on vacation. In an emergency, we'd have to cut our vacation short and make our way back as soon as possible.
