Jason
Discovery Cruise Line announces hurricane policy that protects cancellations caused by storms Discovery Cruise Line, the largest tour operator from South Florida to Grand Bahama Island, announced its hurricane policy for this year's hurricane season. Hanns J. Hahn, the General Manager of Discovery, said that "the active hurricane seasons of the past two years make it important to assure those who have booked cruises, or who want to book cruises, that they will not lose their deposits in the event of cancellations caused by approaching hurricanes. In addition," Hahn said, "Discovery offers travel insurance at a very reasonable cost covering vacation disruptions, lost luggage, and medical emergencies." The policy provides that "In the event of a hurricane watch or warning being posted by the National Hurricane Center for Southeast Florida or the Northern Bahamas during the time of your travel, you may cancel or rebook your trip without penalty." It further says that "Any passengers vacationing on the island during the posting of a hurricane watch or warning who may wish to return from the island earlier than originally booked are welcome to do so without penalty (based on space availability)." GottaCruz
Now that's a good policy. I think that will promote more business for them. I'd love to try one of those sail and stay deals. Has anyone tried it?

Mebert
That sounds like a great policy. Has anyone done Discovery Cruise Line yet?
Mebert
I checked out the Discovery Cruise Line site and if I lived in Florida a cruise on that ship would definitely be an exciting option for the day. However, living in New York makes it difficult to consider unless I did it as part of a Florida land package. The price seems right but I really prefer a minimum of two nights on the Regal Empress. I know that even the two nights would be too short for me. I think I'll have to do a minimum of 5 nights in the end.
GottaCruz
Mebert, Come on down for a land vacation so we can get together. Isn't it time to visit those relatives in Weston?
