sailingrose
I was thinking about our trip on the Mercury and I'm wondering if all the Celebrity bar staff is this good. I have 2 questions...... We had a group from CC on board, about 12 of us. Most of us were drinking and we met our fabulous barwaiter named Dennis (The best I've ever seen!) No matter where seemed to be always turned up. Pool deck, show, dancing, etc. didn't matter. We weren't always together but he seemed to always find us. Did he stalk our group? We did order wine by the bottle as well as other drinks. Also once we gave him our card, we never had to give it to him again! We loved that! At the pool I offered him my card and he told me he had my #! Now I don't drink that much........LOL. We all just took turns buying when we were together. Same thing with the wine steward.......only gave him the card once. Is this a regular experience???? If that's the norm I think I'll be sailing Celebrity more.......loved it!
Shari2
Hi Rose... We had the same experience on the "Infinity." While I usually just had my one Pina Colada or Creme Brulee martinee or glass of wine with dinner once in awhile, our friends were often at the pool bar and in the disco and the other lounges, and everywhere we went we had great service and the bartenders remembered our names, and one gal who was from Croatia who changed from working on pool deck to the dining room to another lounge always came up to us to talk and get our order. Our friends made friends with a sweet Russian gal who was a barmaid in the disco and they exchanged e-mail addresses. We've always had great service on Celebrity and also met very friendly crew members.
Mebert
Now that's what I call "beyond expectations." I hope I experience the same thing on the Mercury.
JoeyandDavid
Not unusual at all ... some of these people are remarkable... and even greet you by name... after first meeting... every cruise we find one or two employees that just "attach" themselves to us for what ever our needs were... absolutely fantastic CS
KeithnRita
It was the same for us on our Horizon cruise, they knew our names and room number after the first day. Maybe we hang in the bars to much. The same thing on all our HAL cruises, we are called Sir Keit and MargaRita.
DaCruzNut
Not unusual, for Celebrity, Rose. One of the reasons that Celebrity is my favorite line is the level of service. They seem to be concerned with the smallest details. What impressed me was, that in an age where the lines have cut back on offering trays for the buffets, Celebrity not only provides trays, but each tray has a linen liner so the plates won't slide and the silver doesn't rattle.... Shari2
Don't forget that the crew will carry your trays for you in the buffet area, Jeff! I love it when they offer to carry my tray for me (especially if the ship's rockin') and they often go and get coffee for me in the buffet area, too! sailingrose
There were parts of Celebrity I loved and the service was one of them. Dennis was the best and I hope that I get that same treatment again soon. Maybe I'll have to book a Celebrity trip for next year....... I always hear about people carrying your tray in the buffet but we never experienced that the entire 9 days on the Mercury.
Shari2
Rose...maybe I looked like an old granny who needed help. hehe  For some reason, someone always asked to carry my tray for me. Guess I just lucked out!
sailingrose
Funny they asked others in our group but never me or my DH! I know we were younger then all of them but not by that much. LOL
