KeithnRita
Has any CruiseCrazies stayed at the Ft Lauderdale North Marriott? That's where Princess Cruise Line has booked us for our pre-cruise on Sept 1. It looks like a very nice facility. Any interesting attractions in the general vicinity?  http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/FLLCC

GottaCruz
Joey is correct, Keithand Rita. . That hotel is kind of a shlep to the port. Wayne says that a good one that is much closer to the port /airport would be the Renaissance Hotel, a new one right off of 595 in Plantation, just west of University Drive. It's a very nice place , we hear. I'm going to look for their website and post the link .

KeithnRita
Well, we've already paid in full the cruise, air, and hotel, including transfers. Since it's the hotel they use for their package deals, we suppose it will be all right. We did stay at a hotel in Lauderdale by the Sea for a cruise a few years ago. It was quite a distant to the port, however it was on the ocean.
GottaCruz
Didn't realize it was a sure thing. Used your link. It looks gorgeous but we're not familiar with that area. Here's the link for the City Insider. http://marriott.com/city-guide/city-overvi...guideType=tours
JohnG
That is the hotel I stayed in and attended my cruise travel agent training in their meeting rooms two years ago. The hotel is nice, but simple. One restaurant and bar. However, in easy walking distance is a mall with many different restaurants to choose from. We ate in a different one each night. Since the cruiseline is handling transfers for you, it will be no problem getting to the pier.
KeithnRita
I will try to hide this post from Rita! On our last cruise, which was out of Houston, we spent two days at the Galleria Mall!
Longboysfan
My friends got a B&B just to the north of Port Everglades. About 5 minutes by cab to the ship - 10 to the airport.
