We were at a 4th of July party yesterday and got talking with a couple who are going on their first cruise in Feb. We asked them what ship.......they didn't know. We asked them what cruise line....they didn't know. We asked them what ports....they didn't know. Personally I think a cruise is wasted on people like this who aren't counting the seconds til their cruise and haven't checked out every minute detail months ahead of time!

Nope........they just knew it was middle of Feb sometime. I gave them my phone number and told them to give me a call and I'd fill them in on all kinds of good stuff LOL.......gotta get 'em onboard somehow

And then there's the other side of this...people who cruise so often, they can't remember which cruise is next. We have neighbors like this. They cruise 3 or 4 times a year and can't remember which one is on tap next, where they're going, any of the details. They just go. They love cruising, but put no effort into details like we do.

We're lucky if we can do two cruises a year...usually it's one a year for us...and we put a lot of effort into knowing about the ship, the destinations, etc., in advance.

first thing i did after booking, was read everything about the ports....with in hours i knew every detail, that's part of the fun, learning what awaits you after the long wait. And then after i finished all the learning, i look up this forum, now i know the details of the ship, and, if there is something i need.....bam, i could have it in hours after a post.....and the joy of single digit count downs, 9 more days till single digits!

I do all the planning and my DH only knows something when I fill him in or ask his opinion. He just wants me to let him know when we are going! He loves not having to do anything to prepare but help pay for it. When we get to a port he asks what is on the agenda for today. This helps him unwind and I love the planning.

I'm with you Mary. DH wants to know the name of the ship and the date. As far as all the details, it is up to me to "surprise" him as he would be perfectly content to sit on the balcony and watch the world float by.

As far as the couple going on their first cruise who knew none of the details - just wait til the cruise is over and they are hooked on cruising - you will know every little detail of their next trip. LOL
