sewut51
My DH is one of the ones who misses out on all the planning and dreaming about a cruise. If I share something with him, he'll tell people like he knows all about it. Our next cruise we are taking our grandson, who will turn 10 on the cruise. Now I have someone to share the excitement with. We have a countdown clock on the computer and my grandson likes to share the time left. The other night at dinner when he did this, my DH said, "Guess what? In 90 days we'll be getting off the Ecstacy!" Our faces dropped and I wanted to cry. How mean! How could he even think of getting off! Sewut
boba
 I think Joey's right. It sounds like they don't know what thet're getting into. I envy them. lol. Imagine their wonder and awe when they do go. I bet they know all the details when they get back.
schatje
If they really are that clueless, I hope they met some people on the ship that would be willing to guide them along on some things to do on board so they don't miss out and find out later that these things were available. I would love to be alittle birdy and watch them the first day or so  I hope they come back excited to go again.

zebra
I'm an "Ultra" planner - some call it anal  so I don't really understand others who aren't nearly as detailed - like the people I work with who cruise once every year and EVERY time I ask them the details, he tells me the name of the cruise line and the port and date they are departing but can't remember the name of the ship and she doesn't know ANYTHING except that she's going on a cruise - this has gone on for the last 4 years - unbelievable!! I prefer my way

Joanandjoe
If I'd been there, I would have talked about how wonderful cruising is, but gone easy on the new cruisers. For heaven sakes, the cruise is seven months from now. For many people, something that far ahead is something to put out of their minds until the date is much closer. We're scheduled to cruise on the Noordam on November 25, the day after a big birthday for Joan. Normally, we'd already have all of our port stops planned. This year, however, has been so difficult that, at this point, we don't really believe we're going. We've had too many trips cancelled in the past three years. Therefore, we can't seem to get into the planning. Maybe after we've paid our final deposit... Trust me, they'll get interested in the cruise when the sailing date is close--maybe after Christmas.
