GottaCruz
Can anyone give me a description of CocoCay and what to expect there. I heard that you have to tender, which doesn't thrill me, to say the least. The tender itself doesn't bother me, it's just the getting from the ship to the tender. ARe those stairs as scarey on RC as they are on Carnival. Please tell me no. Anyway, hubby is wondering , on the island, are there shady areas to sit? Also, is there any place to walk that isn't in the sand?
cruisetarp
Cheryl, Again we have not been to CoCo Cay in a few years but there are definately many shady spots available. The staff will be happy to move a lounge chair into the shade for you. There were also hammocks under a thatched roof. I remember walking down a ramp to the tenders. I am sure if I had to climb down stairs I would remember that as I probably would have stayed on the ship. They did have a nice bar-b-q on the Island if you want to stay for the day. KeithnRita
Cheryl, We've been on one RCI cruise, however it was a Western Caribbean cruise and did not go to CocoCay. We found this info site: http://www.destinationoceans.com/royal_car....asp?pageID=137 Maybe and Wayne should consider the parasailing--it is quite an experience! GottaCruz
Now that sounds great, Mary Lou. I remember walking down a ramp to the tenders. I am sure if I had to climb down stairs I would remember that as I probably would have stayed on the ship. Ah, Mary Lou, it's good to know I'm not alone on this. Ramp sounds great compared to narrow steps that you can see the ocean in between. You have calmed my nerves about that. Now if I can walk down and up this ramp without seeing the ocean on the sides, that would be great, impossible, but great. Anyone have a trick for this? ?
GottaCruz
LOL :cheesy: I like that, Joey, now can you teach Wayne how to do that too? Thanks for the link, Keith and Rita. Will definitely check that out. Maybe and Wayne should consider the parasailing--it is quite an experience! LOL, Yeah, that's right up our alley, along with skydiving and bungee jumping. I have enough to do psyching myself up for ramp to the tender.
