schatje
I'm with Joey and budget. I have been putting my babysitting money in envelopes marked for pre-cruise and post cruise hotel, rental car, gas, food, tips on board, excursions, purchases etc. We no longer use our credit cards unless we can pay them off right away. Needless to say I have a quite a few envelopes and with each port we get too I take the money out of the safe for that day. We did 10 islands last year during our 14 day cruise and the envelopes worked out great. DH was impressed that I thought ahead. I have one more envelope to go for our B2B in December so I am way ahead of schedule this year.
matchstickxx
We have a ballpark figure, and we usually come in under budget but we are not as detailed as Joey or some others.

mercedes
I have to admit that I do not budget. I know what I want and how much I want to pay for it, and when I find it, I just book it. I usually book about 8 months ahead of my next vacation so by the time I am ready to travel, it is all paid for.
Longboysfan
For the price of the cruise - we don't really plan on that - we book what we like and turn it over to our TA for the final numbers. The extras outside that are what seem to get us. Even with the cabin credit and paying it down. I can't seem to shake the extra $$$ spent getting to the boat and getting home. Even with just about all the drinks covered - mostly me via bringing onboard or smuggling or free parties... We always see something to get to make the trip memorable. But why is it always Jewlery. That I don't pick out or wear????<]
