If I may make a suggestion, when you're in Cozumel, check out Chankanaab Park. It's got a nice beach, snorkeling ata reef just offshore (you can rent the gear for $6.00 on the beach), SCUBA, an archeological park and botanical garden, on site; optional dolphin encounters. It's a $10.00 US cab ride from the dock and the entrance fee is about $12.00.
