GottaCruz
never actually got sick but spent 1 night in the cabin with a migraine on our 2nd cruise. Not bad that out of 25 plus cruises, that only happened once. Good question, frostyboy. I believe nobody ever posted that topic before so, good one.
btate
I get sick when I am not on a cruise. A cruise cures the sickness.
Shari2
I've been on 8 cruises and very sick on 2 of them. On our honeymoon cruise to the Mexican Riviera my DH and I both got Montezuma's revenge from eating in Acapulco. This was a place that was recommended by the ship and was supposed to be safe. We were sick for the second week of the cruise. On our first Hawaii cruise on American Hawaii's "Constitution" we flew to Hawaii and stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village a few days before we boarded the ship. We boarded the ship on a Saturday, and the very next day I came down with a severe cough that seemed like pnuemonia, but it turned out to be a bad respiratory flu. I was sick the whole cruise. We had another two days planned back at Hilton Hawaiin Village after we got off the ship, and as I was starting to feel better, my DH got sick. We now make sure we get a flu shot before we travel. My last cruise to Hawaii from San Diego, I started to get really sea sick for the first time, but as soon as I took some Dramamine, I started to feel better. We had some pretty rough seas out of San Diego. Had a bad cold the week before we boarded the "Zenith" but I lucked out on that one and was over it by the day we left for the cruise. eagleforest
On our Navigator cruise I lost 36 hours. I think it had something to do with Rum, Corona, Tequila and sun, and food. We had our day on Labadee and of course I ate the BBQ with all the flies landing on all the food. And drinking the CoCo loco's. Once back on the ship I layed down for a nap. I slept went to dinner and after dinner I told my wife I did not feel good. We went back to the cabin and called it an early night. I was sleeping by 11 and then woke up around 2 feeling like I should toss cookies. Between the bathroom and the balcony I could not go back to sleep. We arrived in Jaimaica and still no sleep. We got off the ship and we got on the San San Yacht cruise. They took us to the falls and I did not drink or eat anything. My wife went up the falls and I sat on the cement wall. After the boat returned I hung out in the lower room. She went snorkeling and I went down below. Once we returned to the dock I headed back to the room. She went shopping with a friend in town. I layed down at 3 roughly and woke up the next morning around 6 am. What ever it was I sure in the heck did not want to get it again. So now I carry all sorts of over the counter products. Needless to say I never went to medical as I did not want to spend the cruise in my cabin.

schatje
For about 30 hours coming out of the Panama Canal headed towards Aruba. We hit a bad storm with 22 ft. waves and gale force winds. Passengers were told to stay in their cabins because you coundn't even walk "straight" down the halls. RC did not even have the food court open to get something in our stomachs and room service was obviously backed up. The swaying of the ship was so bad that it pushed you right down into the mattress and then almost lifted you up off of it. This was the only encounter we had and that was back in 1999. BoatrideLover
On our cruise on the Carnival Pride, Saturday to Saturday, on Wednesday, while in St. Maarten, I started feeling lousy. Ended up in the Infirmary Thursday morning, had Bronchitis and was given an antibiotic. Felt pretty lousy on Thursday and Friday. Of course, Saturday, the day we disembark, I was starting to feel better since the antibiotics had kicked in. Dawn
