I hurt my leg on a motorscooter in Cozumel and used the Princess infirmary. My TRICARE insurance covered it. We had to use the cruiseline's US address. If you get travel insurance, it covers, often up to $50,000 of necessary medical expenses incurred on the cruise. I found the costs similar to what I'd expect in the US.

On our Star Clipper cruise some years back my wife broke her wrist in a fall on the ship. They had only a nurse. There was a retired Swiss orthopedic surgeon aboard and he set it and put it in a cast, provided by the ship. We were only charged for the cast material. The orthopedic surgeon back in the US said it was fine, and redid the cast.

Hey Joey. I must say I was rather impressed with the infirmary on the Pride. I was there at 8am, and in and out in about 20 minutes or so. A nurse saw me first, took my vitals, etc., then the doctor came in and examined. Both people were very, very nice. I got 7 days worth of antibiotics, and the total bill was $50.00, which I just put on my Sail and Sign card.
