No more "single share" on Princess

That is not entirely accurate. For example, on the Dec 10, 2006, sailing of Caribbean Princess the best available double rate for a category II double is $1,406.13 total for two people. However, they have Single Occupancy Best Fare for the same category of $1035.04 So they have a single fare that is 165% of the double rate. That isn't changing. Frankly, HAL was the only one who consistently had and promoted single share, and still does.

Frankly the best deal for a single person, other than single share, is the category 1A on Carnival. Some of these cabins even have portholes, just twin beds (not very often bunks). Category 1A is the "lead rate" that is the price you see in the ads. I know of someone taking a 7 day Carnival cruise in late August in a 1A by herself, paying under $700 for the week.

Princess quoted me 200% for their January cruise to Manus and back. I still haven't heard from the Princess customer relations dept but have recieved 7 e-mails from them trying to sell cruises. Nice to know about Carnival prices but I usually go for the longer more exotic cruises...Thanks Kare_erin
