jacketwatch
 W are still new at this, having taken three cruises B4. 1. Sendour of the Seas, 2002 to the Med. 2. Carnival Destiny, 2003 to the easter Carib. 3. Sapphire Princess, 2005 to Alaska. Of all three we liked Princess the best and this is why we are taking another Princess cruise to FP later this month. The food, service and the overall condition of the ship was the best of the three we have taken. I do realize that HAl and X are very well rated too as well as the Voyager class ships of RCCI. I would like to try them some day.
jbond
Our favourite is RCI. We choose by itinerary and if RCI is doing it, we cruise with them. If not we look to Princess. Not a lot between them in service and food. Ship wise, RCI blows everyone else out of the water. We also like the salt water pools Concierge Lounge Diamond/Diamond+ perks Viking Crown Lounge those incredible dining rooms To each his own. It would be a boring life if we all liked the same thing. sailingrose
I loved the Big Red Boats and miss them still. We have sailed on most of the mainstream lines.(HAL, Carnival, RCI, Celebrity and Princess) The only line I won't sail again is Carnival, definately wasn't to our liking. I prefer RCI and Celebrity because I love the perks but have been sailing Princess in the last few years just because they have a few different ports than RCI and Celebrity. (Caribbean) Best thing is there are still more lines to try so my favorite could change quickly. I'd like to give NCL and Costa a try someday soon. zebra
Joey, what are the 4 cruises that you have completed?
gymbrat33
My favorite cruiseline is Carnival (the only one I've sailed). I've sailed with them 9 times and love the entertainment, food, service, and atmosphere. I'm so happy with Carnival that I haven't tried any other cruiselines. Joanandjoe
Since we've been on lines that other Crazies haven't been on, and haven't been on the ones most sailed by Crazies (Carnival and Royal Carib.),we'll rate the five lines on which we've sailed, on a scale where the best is an 100, and going down from there: 1) Radisson/Regent 100 2) Windstar 95 3) Holland America 80 4) Celebrity 70 5) Regal (Empress) 60 Now for the "why". Radisson rooms were huge, the entertainment on our jazz cruise was fabulous, the small ship feeling was terrific, and the people, both PAX and crew, were the friendliest we've encountered. It was also a great feeling not to have to tip, and not to be nickle and dimed everywhere we went on the ship. The food was fabulous, and the included wine was great. Windstar sailing is a unique and wonderful experience, and our Med. itinerary was the best yet. Service and food were as good as Radisson. No entertainment to speak of, but who needed it on this port intensive itin.? Again, we loved the small ship experience. Staterooms were much smaller than Radisson, but bigger and much better laid out than Celebrity. HAL was the best mass market line we've been on. Food, service, and entertainment were better than other mass market lines (although not as good as Radisson & Windstar), and the rooms were much better than on Celebrity or Regal. Celebrity would score higher if the staterooms were larger and better laid out. Most service was equal to HAL, but we had our only bad cabin attendant on X. Food and entertainment were slightly below HAL, which was a surprise to us given the reputaion of the X food. The Regal Empress was a beautiful old ship, with surprisingly good food and service; but the staterooms were not up to the standards of the other cruise lines.
