What do you look forward to?

It's all exciting to us but I think upon entering the cabin and getting my "we are finally here" kiss from DH is the start of our cruise. We quickly unpack and then go get something to eat before walking the ship. As for me it's all "Good" :smiley:

The best part I think is when you walk down the gangway and into the ship and they say WELCOME! Oh what a feeling.

I have 2 answers.......depending on the cruiseline. On any RCI ship it's when I cross the gangplank and first enter the ship, I get that "Welcome Home" feeling. On all the others it's usually getting to the cabin and unpacking because then my vacation truly begins.

I'm with Mary Lou, crossing the gangway & feeling the ship under my feet is the best. Of course having my first drink onboard rates pretty high also. :grin:

Hi Joey & David. I usually have a foo foo drink, doesn't really matter what it is. It seems to go with the excitement of just arriving onboard.

How about you? What do you have for your first drink?

our first is the Champagne they give us as we board.. then our first purchase .. is absolute martini for me and David gets a Heineken.. or maybe a jack and coke..

Thanks so much everyone for your replies . Very enjoyable to read I must say. Yes, cruising is a really fabulous way to travel. Wish I could afford to go around the world. Just think of the 108 drinks of the day!!!!!! LOL

I would have to say that I look forward to pulling up close to pier about 1 or 2 miles back from it..and Looking at our ship for the first time...The excitement of seeing just how big it really is ...gives ya that butterfly feeling in the pit of your stomach..Then it would be walking up the gangway and into the doors.

First thing we do is get to our cabin and leave our carry on luggage. Then we go up on deck and walk around the ship looking at the pier, other ships and the embarkation action.
