JoeyandDavid
I don't think they should be able to be used..ONLY IN ones own cabin.. not in the hall way, not at the poll not even on your own veranda But yes in the stateroom....and for a fee! JohnG you forgot about the ones that don't use turn signals because they don't know how to drive.... And don't get me started.... I had no road rage until I moved to California.. these people are idiots... Common courtesy died with the Dinosaurs..
avie
I have no problem with cell phones -- only the people that use or abuse them! Cell phone use is appropriate in the confine of one's cabin -- however, not in public or semi-public areas, where use could affect the quiet enjoyment of others. Joey, The Washington, DC area is not much different that LaLaLand! Yes, the area is teeming with cell phone idiots. Indeed, there is little difference with the "professionals' in your present, as well as your former, area. Actually, I am familiar with those who gain many billable hours through cell phone use in cars. So far, I have been able to avoid driving with them! And things are worse on both coasts with the incfreased popularity of Blackberrys. No "drivers" are not restricted to holding cell phones -- they now are reading and sending emails while driving. SCIROCCO
I guess some people hate them but they are a necessity to me and Annie because we Drive down to Galveston for our cruise, plus we need them for Emergencys in case something Happens on the way and while we are in Galveston Before our cruise! What I think is whats being said is the Rudeness of people that "CANT" or "Wont" turn them off on their cruise! Mine goes in the Safe when I get out in Territorial waters! And if I have to use it, I text Message because its cheaper than calling! That way you wont bother anyone with the talking part but your going to have People on cell phones no matter where you go! Just like the dopes who dont use their turn signals  But when Im at work I can put some red and blues in their mirrors and they still dont see me  thats where the Loud Siren comes in and then they dont hear me because of the Loud Boom Box going off! So Cell Phones to me are just a Minor Inconveience! So anyone needing to use your Cell Phone "TEXT MESSAGE" or go to the "STERN" of the Ship or "BOW" and be considerate of each others Space!

elfed
I thought the idea of going on a cruise was to RELAX. To get away from it ALL. What happens if you call home or your buisness and there is a mini-crisis? As you are at sea, 500 miles perhaps away from your home what can you do? WORRY-right? Your well earned vacation is now partially if not totally ruined by the crisis at home albeit not critical. Sorry folks the cell phones should be left at home.If you have left the ship's info card with relatives and a buisness friend then they should call you only in Life Threatening, Dire Circumstances ONLY. Regards, James.
