eagleforest
We got to the terminal and their must have been 2 to 300 people in front of us. We waited to go up the escaltor. Then we waited again to go through the detectors. And then I felt so bad. I told my wife that I did not That we should not But when they asked my room number I said PLATINUM MEMBER and we bypassed 300 people and ended in the line that said Platinum/Diamond Members/ Suites and before you know it we were on the ship. As we walked the upper deck looking down. My wife said "look where the guy in the yellow shirt is" "He was like 50 people ahead of us yet he was like 100 people from getting to the desk to check in. Just wondering how many others have that bad feeling of skipping to the front?

Suzila
Nah! There's a reason they have programs like 'Platinum Members'...if those people continue to cruise, they'll be in the same position as you were and be able to bypass 300 people too. I wouldn't feel bad about being loyal to a cruise line...they rewarded you for it.
sailingrose
No problem with it whatsoever. I've earned it! It's really hard to get on other Cruise lines and have to wait. LOL

SCIROCCO
Me and Annie are also Platinum members, but we get on just as fast without using the Beneifits, because they have a lot of check in clerks at the terminal and it goes really fast! We check in around 11:30 AM at The Pier in Galveston on the Rhapsody Of The Seas! You cant get into your room until 1PM! So we go to the Pursers Office first and put our Money in our account  we go up to the Buffet to get a Light Snack, come back to the Card room and play some cards and just wait for our room by then its only 15 minutes before we can dump everything,Grab a Drink of the Day and go to the drill around 4PM The ship doesnt leave until 5:15 PM! So we go to the Sail away party another Drink of our Choice and just enjoy! WOOHOO were on our way Now thats what Im Talking about!

elfed
Why do you feel so bad? I mean you and your family have spent a fair chunk of money on Royal Caribbean so it's only right they reward you in some way. Personally I would prefer a complimentary dinner for two in the speciality restraunt. If the ship doesn't have one then a couple of bottles of wine in the stateroom! Don't forget there is tremendous competition amongst the cruise lines to get your dollar so they look for any way they can to make you feel wanted and important. Perhaps the guy in line with the yellow shirt will become a Platinum member himself one day. So relax and enjoy the privelege. jbond
I don't feel bad at all. In Harwich this past June, the regular embarkation lines had coffee in paper cups and cookies available. The Platinum/Diamond line had coffee in china cups and chocolate covered strawberries. Didn't feel bad at all. It just gets better when we go to the Concierge Lounge for the hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. The priority tendering is great also. Loyalty has it's perks.
