jbond
I wouldn't even consider going by cab. It's a long way out and you would have to get the cab in Puntarenas, not a good idea, it's not a very attractive town and I'm being very nice. One of our guides pointed out some horses in a field. He called them Costa Rican BMW's. Besides you miss out on the guides, they are amongst the best we have had, all three trips. Besides visiting Sarchi we also visited a beautiful small town that had a very unusual church . It was all metal and was "imported" from Belgium. It was featured in the last "Amazing Race". As the others have said, Sarchi is very interesting, it's the furniture capital of Costa Rica. 99% of the stores in town are "mueblarias", furniture stores. You can have an ox cart sent to your home. The prices, including shipping were quite reasonable. The also had some beautiful carved coffee tables, and the coffee was good. cherole, I can't say about Manuel Antonio National Park, but I did a quick search on the net and it sounds fabulous. If we visit Puntarenas again, a possibility next spring, it will be on my wish list.
