elfed
Hi Gogetter, We were on the Legend out of New York in 2004. Lovely ship with the usual Joe Farcas touch! There are urns everywhere you look on this ship but I can't remember the theme. I do remember the wonderful entertainment and the best Cruise director we have ever had. Sadly he has now retired from cruising The ship is very easy to navigate around. Met and had an early morning coffee with Captain Capusti on the Lido deck which was a huge highlight for me as there was no one else around! It was 6-45 a.m.! You will enjoy the Legend. Fort Lauderdale is well organised for cruising. If you do not want to line up to check in may I suggest you arrive at the port after 1 p.m. Regards, James. teacp
Everything James said about the ship are my sentiments. We sailed her in April to Bermuda and I thought she was a great ship. Like James said urns all over the place but just adds to the ambiance.........
rogue
I have to agree about the shipwith the others. The Legend was the best laid out ship we have been on. It is easy to get anywhere you want to go on the ship. Each room is dedicated to a different legend (Unicorn Cafe, Satchmo's Jazz Club, Dream Team Sports Bar, etc.). We have never sailed out of Ft. Lauderdale, so I can't give you much info about that.
KeithnRita
Harry, Rita's son drove down from Orlando to see us while we were in Fort Lauderdale. It was about a three hour drive. You might check out one of the park and cruise hotels in the area, and drive in the evening before. They provide transportation to and from the ship and by the time you deduct the parking fees you would be charged at Port Everglade, your one night stay won't cost you much. JoeyandDavid
Harry, FLL is one of the most efficient port we have sailed from.. It is convenient.. close by other Fort Lauderdale attractions close to the airport and most local hotels provide free shuttle service...
