jacketwatch
 Hi guys. Is a slow day at work, very slow so I was surfing around and found some really good prices for the above areas on Oceania. I then discovered that the ships they use are from the former Renaissance line and sister ships to the Tahitian Princess which we recently sailed on. Of course these are small, lighter ships and I was concerned about how smooth these seas are. The TP was OK but when the weather got choppy you felt it. However this was the south Pacific. Hows the eastern Med/Aegean? Thank you. Larry
JohnG
Most of the time the Mediterranean/Aegean is more like a lake. Seldom rough at all. I sailed it many times while a navigator in the Navy and just last month on the Oceania Nautica. Couldn't really remember any motion. TheSkipper
Like JohnG said, usually no problems in that area. Years ago I served on the staff of the Commander in Chief of the Northeast Atlantic and Med Fleet (CINCNELM). With all the ships we had in those areas we kept pretty close tabs on the weather. Trans-Atlantic is usually much rougher than in the Med. Go for it.
jacketwatch
 Thank you Skipper. BTW and just for my curiosity what type of ship did you serve on? My late uncle served on the CV-10, the Yorktown which is a floating museum in Charleston, SC. We had a chance to tour it once and I'll never forget it. So huge! Of course now the carriers are much larger. They also had a WW II destroyer these as well, Buckley class if I recall correctly and I was surprised to see just how narrow they were. These is a WWII German sub here at the museum of sci. and industry in Chicago, the U-505. while touring it I learned what "hitting the can" meant. Cheers, Larry
jbond
Like everyone has said, it's smooth. We've been there four times, September through October and it's been very smooth. A great area to visit.
jacketwatch
 Thanks JB. I'll bet the times you went the weather was a bit cooler too. Greece can broil during the summer. Larry
